I have recently noticed that you can get a 24' Skater or Predator cat with 1 or 2 outboards. I know 2 outboards is faster. What are the advantages or disadvantages? I plan on using this type of boat in the Atlantic along the shores of Ft. Lauderdale Florida.

Twins for sure. I have owned or been in many multiple engine outboard cats including the 24 Skater. A single takes a beating hanging in the tunnel getting hammered by the water. Also the cat will be a dog with a single. The 24 Skater with twins is an incredible boat. The absolute best rough water boat for it's size. Fastest as well. Good resale value.

What he said. A 24 with a single will no want to turn as easy as one with twins. My .02 cents. Take your time learning to run it. they can be a handlful. They run so good you wan't know things are fixing to go wrong until they do if your not experienced. Been there done that.

twins, but on a 24 ya dont have to go nuts, even stock 200's would run well.

You'll want twins for sure, also give some serious consideration to the size of the boat. 24 is a bit small for our waters here in S.Fla

I have a new 25 Liberator with twin 300XS motors. Alot of fun and hard acceleration. They run crappy with a single though. here's the link.
