Angry Stereo removal

Having issues removing my Sony stereo receiver. Unit will not slide out of mounting sleeve after engaging removal tools. I'm concerned that a blackstrap may have been installed prior to dropping in the cabin liner. Has anyone run into a similar problem? Also, seems that instrument panel was glued in place. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Joe, the removal keys don't always do the trick the first time. Sometimes you have to put a little curve into them to press the tabs a little further. There is no back strap that you would not have access too.

Thanks, Brian. I tried several times and tweaked the removal tool. I'll give it another shot this weekend.

I have a very specialized tool from Stihl that will work as well. Congrats on the sale of the Ba-ha.

Success!!! I was able to insert a small blade between the opening in the instrument panel and the receiver sleeve, bend down the retainer tabs and slide the receiver and sleeve out together. It turned out that the sleeve was screwed to the receiver. New unit is in and crankin! Thanks for your advice, Brian.
