Should be a easy one for somebody....

What cloth / mat should I use for the underside of my bow deck?
Theres a couple flexible spots between the bulkheads, and with new paint I don't want anybody walking up there, flexing the glass & cracking the paint.
Any special tricks to fighting gravity when applying? Should I mix hotter so the resin tacks quicker ?

you want 1708, thats pretty much all you'll need. Upside down isnt to bad, I've done sheets as large as eight by four feet by myself fully vertical. The trick is mix a little cabosil in the resin to thicken it up, that trick was given to me by a crusty old glass guy that use to work at Skater lol works like a charm. Dont mix it hotter that will also make it brittle, use a standard 1% but if you want to speed it up a bit you could bump another 1% in there. I just wouldnt make a hot batch, i've seen guys whale in five or ten percent or so to get it to kick fast and that kinda mix will haunt you.

are you sure that bow deck is only 1 layer? if there is a bad core there, all the glass in the world on the underside won't stiffen the topside.you could glass all the way to the keel and the top would still be spongy.

You might want to use Stiffener's to the under side of the deck and run it lenght wise to take alot of the flex out, provided the core is in good condition & not delaminated from the glass deck.

Core still ok. Think im going to cut 1/4” ply wood to shape, then cloth it up.
The deck is just a bit flexier than id like.....

Heres another ? If I 5200 the plywood up first then glass over it would that be ok or hack????
Just not too versed and gravity fighting me def wont help my situation.
Will the 5200 release messing with the cure?
