Question Oil Filters??

I've read through all the threads on this subject and am trying to make a decision on what filters to use. Seems everybody hates Fram but knowbody knows of any actual problems with them. I have HP500 EFI's. What are the part numbers for Fram HP? NAPA Racing? Mobil 1? Purolator Prem Plus? These are supposed to be the good ones. How about just staying with the Quicksilver that came with it? Does Mercury make any others?

The thing i liked about the Mobil 1s,is no paper in the element.
You know what moisture does to paper!!! I have HP4s now,Im going to cut them open first oil change and see what they have in them. If its paper im going to the Mobil 1s.

Does anyone make a good shorter filter? At this point my remote oil setup only allows me to mount a standard 5" filter, not the larger ones like a HP4 (remote hanging off CMI headers). I'll probably change it next season, but for now that's all the room I have.

I had "lots" of probelms with paper filters (AC, Fram, K&N). Couldn't easily find Wix racing local (and could never confirm that non-racing Wix filters were synthetic). Went to System 1 cleanable filters. So far the boat has run more this year than all of last, and not one oil filter shutdown due to crummy paper elements !
