We boat every weekend with a buddy of ours with a 1998 33' Outlaw with 500 EFI's, extension boxes, and labbed 4-blade 30 pitch Bravos. His boat reads 81-82 mph on the GPS. I think JawBreakerKid was reading 72 mph with 502's in his 2000 33' Outlaw.

The 500 EFI's are the best "turn key" motors on the market!! Love those thing!

yes, the best i have seen with my 2000 33' Outlaw on GPS is 72mph. that is as dialed in as my stock boat is going to get. light load, low fuel, low humidity, perfect chop, etc.... i'm running totally stock 502's w/ 26P 4-blade Bravo I's that are nocked back to a 25.5P and labbed by York Propellors.

the more that i boat, the more i realize that an extra mph on the top end does nothing for me. in my boating, 90% of the time i'm running 60's through snotty water. there is a very small amount of time that i reach my WOT top end speed. with my set up, i have sacrificed top end to gain in the mid-range. i would rather have a responsive throttle in the rough stuff. IMO, 502's will take the 33' Outlaw's hull to the limit in rough water. if you are boating on smooth water most of the time, then it is a different story 500's may be a better choice.

for a 33' Outlaw and my boating habits, i could not justify the extra cost of 500's. don't get me wrong, i'd love to have them, but as a 25yr old boater, a dolla is a dolla.....

BTW, my 33' is for sale. i can't justify a T/S Top Gun, but who needs justification in the long run.....

Hi all,

Just found out about this site. It's great! Best my boat has ran is 70 in moderate chop. Using a Garmin III+ GPS

2000 Outlaw 33
Twin 502 Mags
3 Blade Mirage props

Hoping to do some mods that wont decrease my reliability over the winter. Hopefully I can find some mods in this forum.
