Banks has been showing and advertising these Duramax based marine diesels now for about 5 years, but I have not heard or seen of any in boats yet. I would also be curious about cost and installations up to now. Banks has had a great reputation and it looks as though these have been well thought out, engineered and equipped, I just don't know why there appear to be none out there? Maybe just to pricey or? Not sure. Somebody here on OSO and get the latest scoop or information, ie price and who has them.

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

couple years ago price was over $100,000 for each engine. no idea what it is now. they were designed, built and tested to meet NATO engine requirements, so alot of R&D costs. Pacific Performance engineering(PPE) has been running boat with duramax for several years and enough info out there that you could do your build up for alot less.

Cummins based, 560 HP 40% fewer moving parts, fits in a engine bay well, reasonable priced ,a rumor has a 620 HP program around for it.

Steve, Didn't Merlin used to have a 6 banger (Clanger for this instance) about 500hp? I recall they went from 350hp to 400hp to 450hp all with the same motor, each just had a bigger Turbo

Nice Sig line BTW
