Default How in the Heck do you clean your Hull!!

Hey Guys, Looking for creative ways to clean and wax my hull. My boat sits on a trailer and is too low to get at the whole thing.

Any Thoughts??

The parts of the hull that are not reachable should not be waxed as it will make you slower. I wax the bow and hull sides not the actual bottom. I use on/off which is acid to remove any colorization and magic eraser for any scum line. That's it.

X2 I never wax the bottom of the hull, I do however polish it. The best way I found to do it is get one of your boat whore friends to get his azz under the boat and use a little elbow grease. LOL

Great answer. I misspoke earlier I don't wax my hull either just clean and polish. Does anyone use a lift or anything like that?

Take it down to your local boat dealer or marina. for a couple hundred dollars, they will lift it off the trailer and have one of their hired hands give it a good cleaning and buffing. And if it hits the ground it is on them, not you. I am having mine done right now. Tired of laying under it wiping river water stains off with acid.

And while they have it, it is a good time to do any trailer maintenance that you have been putting off. bearings, carpet, paint etc.

I use a pump sprayer from Rural King with a diluted solution of Walmart Hull Cleaner and water. Walk around the boat, spray on, hose off. Ohio River stains (and all of the other contaminants that we swim in) usually come right off with the water hose pressure.

SLIMEY GRIMEY. You can buy it online. Its chep. just mix it with water and spray it on the yellow stains on the bottom of your boat and it will run rt off and be white again. Its good stuff!
