Default Trading '06 LBZ Duramax on 2012 Duramax

As the title says... its the end of the month and local dealer is short on his quota.
Offering GM supplier pricing to match what my Ford deal will give me. About to roll out a $62k +tax / license etc fully loaded 3500HD 4x4 for $54,240 and change out the door, all inclusive. Dealer is pulling every rebate and GM price plan trick in the book to move floorplan before Sunday night. I can't see how he's making any money, I think its just to try and meet his quota.

Am I crazy letting go of my 2006 LBZ for this new LML engine urea injected truck?

And if not, which one of you wants a 2006 2500HD four door long bed fully loaded with 97k miles for $22k? Lol...

Unless you guys tell me I'm crazy I'm about to give the dealer my old truck for 19k + the $2750 diesel trade in incentive.

I think the numbers are pretty good, just wondering about giving up the trusty LBZ for the new LML engine. I love this old LBZ, only thing I've ever had to do since brand new is change the oil and filters and one battery. Not even brake pads.

Are the new ones even close to as good?

Thoughts?

That sounds like an awesome deal.

I'm lovin' my '11 LML 2500HD. Don't worry about the urea. It's no big deal. The stuff is very cheap and available everywhere, now. Don't buy it from the dealer, though. They must make it with their own piss, because they're very proud of it.

If you want to remove the DPF and urea, the H&S programmer with a turbo-back exhaust is the way to go.

The LML's are rated to tow more, have an upgraded Allison transmission, and built-in exhaust brake. Plus, I think they look better.

yikes i am picking up my new gmc 2500hd next week. i special ordered one to my liking. i traded my 04 ex cab 2500hd diesel and got more than your 19k on trade. they are a little light on your trade. my buddie got 25k for his 05 2500hd 2 weeks ago. not meaning to throw it in your face or anything but i think your 06 is worth alot more than they are giving you. beat them up a little more on your trade!!!!!!!!

He said they're giving him 19K plus $2750 additional diesel trade incentive. That's not bad for a trade off a decent deal price. My friend just sold a mint 05 SLT and the best he could get was 22K. They're all worth more, until you try and sell it!

Yeah, I had to fight a bit for the 19k on trade. They started at 17k and I said no way.

509SC is thinking what I'm thinking... 17k + $2750 = $21750. For not having to dick with selling it privately afterwards I'm ok with that.

As for the numbers, I'm good with them. Unless I'm a moron and not seeing something I don't see me doing this swap at a better deal anytime in the near future. I think I got a little lucky and some of the stars aligned. Every now and again even a stray dog finds a bone

After a bit more research here on OSO and the comments from Plum Crazy I think I'm going to pull the trigger unless something goes squirelly at the last minute.

No doubt the LBZ is and has been the best truck I've ever owned by far. Hence my questions here, and I very much appreciate all the responces.

BTW Plum, I like those wheel arches. Aftermarket or factory? Truck looks awesome. Time to go wheel shopping I guess.
