Default Clear coating new aluminium intake

I will be fitting a new Edelbrock Victor Jr and Holley TBi to my 454 Mag.

As I am in salt water and the boat stays in all the time I want to properly coat up the new bare Aluminum parts before fitting them to ward off corrosion. I think I want them clear coated [otherwise I would beadblast them and get them painted with coloured gloss epoxy] what would you reccomend for a long life?

I am based in the UK so the same brands may not be available here.

Thanks

Paul.

I mentioned earlier I'm not a huge fan of powdercoating I have done several NEW intakes in clear with good results but in my opinion I prefer it another color rather than clear

Even if your clear coating them, blast them. 99% of adhesion issues are from lack of proper surface prep. It will remove any weak and impure aluminum from the casting.

If you clear powdercoat them they actually come out looking like they were painted a dark grey color. My buddy just did his and he wasn't to happy with the color it ended up being.

por 15 glisten clear. polish and etch the metal first, then lay it on heavy. My polished aluminum imco powerflows look almost as good today as they did three years ago when I first painted them...

House of Color make an adhesion promoter part # AP01. Clean the metal , put this on then you can use a regular spray on clear coat. I have been useing this stuff for years, it works great. Follow the instructions for the AP01 and you wont have any problems. Good luck

I did a clear powdercoat over chrome powdercoat on my '68 Camaro - obviously, very little (if any) salt issues. it came out looking llike polished aluminum.

I'll see if I can dig up a picture.
