Finally got my self my dream boat.
2002 Baja 342 Boss, with genny and all the goodys.
Ok the boat has 3 batteries. (one for port wish I assume is the house battery, one starboard, and one for genny.)
but it has 3 battery switches with 4 positions? I assume (and was told on another forum) that each motor has a switch. and that switch selected what battieries you tie to it.
On the startbord motor, I can select battery "1", Battery "2" or "both".
On the port motor same set up.
This allows either motor to be started by either battery, and to tie them together to start either motor.
That makes since.
But then there is that 3rd battery, and switch.
I asssume the 3rd battery is separated just for the genny, but what would the other positions on the switch do? its got the same 1-2-both settings.?
then the last question. doe sit matter at ALL what position the battery switches are in for the tripple battery charger?
thanks,

We would really need to see what wires go to where on the back of the switches.
Generator usually doesn't get it's own switch... just a large circuit breaker.
Ideally, you want 2 batteries combined for the house and 1 separated for "Back Up Starting"

It really depends on how it was wired originally and it could have been done in several different ways. It could be wired so that engine 1 charges/uses that battery when on #1 on the switch and engine 2 charges/uses that battery when in #2 on the switch.

OK did testing. The 2 motor switched wher as thought to be. batery, "1" or battery "2" or "both"
the genny is all by its self, the switch is just a disconnect, ON or OFF. and only to that battery "3" that the other motors cant get to.
