Default Bottom painting over Imron

Hey guys, Im looking to bottom paint my boat as I keep it in salt water through out the season. It looks like the boat has been painted with Imron paint, from what the last owner and a buddy of mine at the Marina, there best guess was Imron. It has held up quite well over the years, I was told it was done in the 90's. I keep the boat on a slip during the summer and had a horrible time cleaning it all year. So I would like to bottom paint it to color match as close as possible.

My questions are, what steps should i do to insure the bottom paint with stick?

Also what would you guys recommend for a brand of bottom paint, the boat is a yellow 24ft checkmate, so I'm looking to get close in color.

I have painted a few bottoms before so I'm not afraid of the job, just looking at suggestions.

Got a quote from a friend who does fiberglass work, he said materials would be around $380 his cost for 2 gallons of bottom paint, he recommend 2 coats and about a days labor, so anywhere from $600-$1000

thanks for the help

Scuff the bottom, Use interprotect 2000 barrier coat, followed by Vivid from Interlux.
It comes in a rainbow of colors... The inter protect will protect against blisters.

I think that may be to aggressive, you are just trying to prep the surface so the interprotect will adhere & bond to it. Follow the instructions from Interlux.
