Default Mounting location for GPS Gaffrig speedo antenna

I'm getting ready to install a Gaffrig GPS speedometer in my 22 Donzi, has anyone installed the antenna under the deck?

I really don't want to install this on the exterior if I can avoid it.

thanks,
Gregg

It needs to have a clear shot at the sky if possible. I have mine center dash looking up thru the center section of windshield.

Plenty of installs under the deck work just fine. If you have a flat surface under the deck somewhere, hopefully not near the compass, try it there first.

Under the deck for 11 years , never a problem . The new type that are hard wired to your 12v system seem to be more potent than the old battery powered antenna's .

I had one under the deck on my last boat, no problem. Currently, my GPS antenna is under the deck too.
