Default Do all metallic silver boats look good

Was thinking of a metallic silver paint job on my boat, just wondering what everyone thinks a one color silver would look like.

Silver is a nice color, But what some people over look is it gets Hot, Really Hot in the sun. When Mixing Silver paint one of the main tint colors is Black, and it absorbs the sun just like a Black boat does.

Some look great some don't. And no black is not a main tint in silver.

I think silver looks great, but as with any paint job, the bodywork and prep determines how good it really looks, and you have to make sure your painter is really good and is not gonna stripe it when it comes to the flake, good technique is key, but an agitator cup helps. Also I think it really depends on the lines and trim of the boat, on silver boats, I prefer a shaved or painted rubrail, and curvy lines.

Silver as a large part of a graphic yes, silver as a stand alone color not so much. If you don't get the metallics to lay just right it will tend to look dirty or cloudy.

Just my two cents, I've never been a big fan. I have done a few but always as a two tone with white or something.

Everything, because it is such a large uniform surface. Gun, technique, base, prep, quality of paint, etc. All adds up here. How big of a boat?

Mine does not get hot on the silver but the colors on the flames will burn the sh!t out of you in the summer sun.

Yup what Dave said. It's difficult using silver on such a large surface.
