My trailer sat a lot and was rarely used when the old owner had it. It's got the electric powered hydralic brakes and they won't work no matter what I do to the brake controller in my truck. Would a junk battery on the trailer be the first place to start? All lighting works accordingly just not the brakes. Any ideas?

Junk battery could be the issue. You may also need an adapter for the trailer brakes that Myco sells. www.mycotrailers.com You would have to call them. Also, do a search, discussed on here before.

Or you could just ditch that PoS Nextrail and buy a nice trailer from Myco or Manning.

Nextrail, Rocket, and other bolt together trailer manufacturers CAN make nice trailers, but they are usually bought as low option, cheap tools; rather than properly setup and engineered trailers according to the caliber of boat they carry.

Yeah this trailer isn't my style. I'll look into that adapter thingy. Thanks Brian.

What are you using for a tow vehicle? Thought I remember you using a GM 3/4 ton, did your previous trailer had surge brakes? The reason I ask is I went through the same thing with my GMC and previous Tahoe, you need to add the fuse under the hood to activate the controller. That might be your problem.

Not sure what the brand of trailer has to do with the brakes???? Only a couple EOH makers that I'm aware of, and pretty sure Myco isn't one of them.

My trailer battery is always dead as can be whenever I decide to go anywhere, but the brakes work just fine using the power from the trucks electrical system. AFter a while, the battery is charged back up. No idea if a shorted battery could cause this issues though. Isn't the battery only for the breakaway feature??

Put in a new breakaway battery, Pull the breakaway pin, the pump should hum and the brakes lock up. If not the issue is in your trailer, If they work when pin is pulled the issue is in your plug or truck

I picked it up with my dads 3/4 that already had a controller hooked up for our old snocross race trailer. On the way home from picking it up they wernt working either. Now with the controller in my 3500 its still not working. Guess it could be the controller or the issue is on the trailer some where.
