Aren't you putting the cart in front of the horse???

I'm sure they sound nice, although they are no doubt pricey!

They arent out yet and I cant even imagine how much they will sell for. The 7.7" go for $330!

I would much rather have 12 Rockford Fosgate 6.5 inch marine speakers than 2 of these new JL Audio 8.8 inch for the same money. Not worth paying $450 for 2 coaxial speakers IMO.

Comparing Rockfords to JL's is like comparing a Fountain to a Cigarette or a Nor Tech to an MTI... all great boats and anyone would love to have them , but nobody can touch JL's quality so far !!

Still not out. I just purchased all new stereo equipment for the new boat and I was not impressed with the JL 7.7's IMO I get more bang for my buck with Rockford Fosgate M262's you can put some serious power to them and the clarity is great. Now for the subs I did go with JL M10IB5 and amps are JL also, the new compact M models M400/4 these amps are tiny and don't take up much space.

The speakers are due out sometime in May. They will have about 15 percent more speaker cone and sound will be better than 7.7's. Having installed and sold many JL systems a lot depends on layout of speakers, tuning of amps, quality of cabling etc. you can't beat their HD amps. A big bonus is hey draw half the current of the analog M series amps. Thus more time on the sand bar.

Thats what Im saying!! The rockfords can take a ton of power and as long as they are hooked to an amp are always crystal clear. For the money they are the best speaker I have ever purchased.
I too am using JL Audio subs! Lol! For amps Im running a JL audio 4 channel, a Rockford Fosgate 500/2 sub amp and a Kenwood 4 channel amp.
