Damn Tank,
I'm glad you cleared that up! LOL
We're excited for you. 650 HP should be awesome.
Do you have to go through a breakin period, or to they do that on the dyno?
Keep us posted.

Boss, first off....Your new boat is tight as hell bro!! And as I said in another post, that name is right on!
Now I don't know about the break in...I would think it is going to need it, but that is a good question. How do you get around dynoing a motor w/out properly breaking it in?? hmmmmm. good question. never the less I will be taking it very easy on it for the first few hours
I don't want to become another accident statistic as I've seen on the board the last few months

Tank -
Dyno time does not count as break-in time - the pulls that they run on a dyno do not last very long (15 - 20 seconds). Depending upon how "tight" you motor is set up, you need to run at least 8 to 10 hours are varying speeds (with most of the time spent between 3000 an 4000 RPM) to set the rings, etc. - don't be afraid to wind it out every once in a while, just don't run at WOT for more than 15 - 20 seconds. The break-in time will go quickly ~ don't get impatient!
Good luck - and be sure to post the #'s!

DL,
Thanks bro. I'm new to this whole performance motor thing you know? I had a 454 in there before, granted I broke it in nice and slow too but I never worried about what RPM's at what speed's and range and all of that. This new motor is going to open up a bunch of stuff that I'll need to do now. Pay a little more attention to whats going on on the dash and props and all of that. But I will post my adventures for you guys to give me input and advise.

Tank, depends on the cam type as well as far as break in is concerned. BE sure you are running fresh oil as well.
Dude, I'd be at the boat shop smacking around anyone in my way if I were you. You need to get that boat in the water!! Ease up slowly on the tabs and trim until you find that prop the boat wants. It is going to walk alot with a three blade over 66-88 mph. You are going to need a 4 blade. My Rev 4 23 pitch is just about perfect for my application. Your going to need a bigger wheel, 'cuase you got a monster under the hatch. Good luck, have fun. Remember, keep it under 2700-3000 RPM outta the hole and watch the rentry. Later.

Thanks Allan....I'm going to need all the help I can get when I get that thing in the water. I should have it back before the 4th of july, but I'm leaving for Hawaii for 10 days on the 5th!
well not to sad about that, but you know what I mean
Might just have to take it for a morning cruise before my flight
When I get that thing wet you guys will hear about it cause I need all your feed back.

Ok, I took the boat down today....I have some other stuff I'm going to have him do.....So the mechanic is going to keep it till I get back from Hawaii.....But I'm pretty stoked!! Took him out to lunch (got to do the PR thing
) He's going to do some custom stuff with the exhaust to make it run dry baby!!! LOUD!!! He said, "youre going to get kicked out of every harbor you go to and youre going to get tickets all the time" I said, "F*ck it! throw em in dry brother!"
Going to fix my loose frickin seat and the engine hatch cover that the screws stripped out of, so I'm a happy camper...get back from hawaii and my boat will be waiting for me with a new motor and fixed problems! Oh yea, and loud as hell too!
