Default any opinions on 07' gmc kodiak 4x4? insurance issues?

Anyone use one of these or have one? Got my lending lined up just wondering about others experience using one of these. Any trouble insuring them?

Thanks

Does this Kodiak have air brakes? That can lead to more costs, CDL etc.

It's under a cdl. Basically a glorified 3500 dually with a bigger cab LOL

Rough ride, kind of overkill for a 33 isn't it? Otherwise they look cool as hell.

Mine is insured through State Farm as RV. $80/mo
Power is about the same as 3500, but stopping is awesome. Use the engine brake all the time towing
and is a big saver on the trailer brakes.

which rear suspension? the air rides way better than the spring(mine had springs) hydrolic brake system will put ya thru the windshield if jammed hard( work great in other words).. same power programmers will work on em and their are custom bumpers and all that stuff for em as well. Was cheaper to insure it than my dually was (both same year models) a month, had mine thru allstate... Fuel ileage is a little rough bone stock due to gearing, but added a programmer and exhaust and intake kit it completely changed it...

We ran ours through State Farm as well. It will require your agent to explain what it is to the underwriters so it is not classified under commercial.

For ride, the air ride is substantially smoother than the springs (I had springs) but look into the air ride cab kit. It was only about $500 for the kit and took us about 4 hours to install. MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Mine was #1 from Monroe,(2003) they made substantail improvements and changes after the first few months of production, it just kept getting better... I traded it in in 2009, for a regular dually, though the new truck works better for us for everyday, I do miss the hauling of the Kodiak!!!

Too much for a 33'? Nahhh! I figure the boat loaded with trailer is around 11k

I do Soo much towing during the summer I figured I can get this kodiak for the same price as a 3500 dually why not ya no.

I'm gonna go look at it Sunday. Gotta call progressive and get a quote as well.

Did a few searches on the Duramax forums and seen a few guys complaining about quality issues unrelated to the drivetrain so decided to get some opions of fellow boat towers.

Thanks guys

Just the usual, early Kodiac injector issues, but it was under warranty forever...
