Default Nor-Tech V5000 vs. Fountain 47?

Friends,

How do these monsters, the Nor-Tech V5000 vs. the Fountain 47, benchmark?

-Speed WOT?
-Handling?
-Ability to take rough conditions, etc?

-"Cabin/internal space"?

Or, is it a more fair comparison to compare the NT5000V to the Fountain 48 Express Cruiser? The Fountain 48 EC also usually comes with a diesel triple...

Actually I think U need 2 compare the 47 Beaker 2 a NT 43!!!(43'9" in stats but actually closer 2 45 ft!!!) I had a 43 NT 4 5 1/2 northern MI seasons & alot of the days I rafted up 2 a good buds 47 beaker!! AZZ 2 AZZ, all that stuck out was the Fountain beak! Literally!! & I believe I had more room in my cabin also! his would run a couple ticks more in speed w/ our trip 525's, I would C 90 on a good day, his would do say 92ish I think !! No, I don't think U compare the 50 NT 2 a 48EC, dif animals! I believe the 43 & 50 NT's & the 47 beaker all have 9 ft beams!!! good luck!

I'll back what Wrink says....Id like to also add when rafted together, the 47 Fountains rubrail is about a foot lower, freeboard is about the same, but the cabin height is 10" lower through out. The size of the boats are really not close when rafted together looking at it from the stern on the dock.

Fountain sucks up about 6 inches of gunnel walkway on each side of the boat 2 the deck & the hull below the rubrail goes down 2 the chine at quite a stronger angle where the NT is almost straight down, slightly angled but all of that allows 4 more room in the NT cockpit & cabin! My Buds boat sits right next 2 mine most of the summer in my barn so I have seen these difs 4 years!!! NT steps R about an inch high or so & the Beakers R like 8ish or so, huge dif!!

Thanks for your replies, friends!

How about build quality and attention to details etc? pros & cons with the two?

As far as I'm concerned, having my 2nd NT on order right now & B'n around beakers, NT has them hands down on fit/finish/quality/solidness! Beakers will run faster w/ comparable power!

Nor-Tech fit and finish is superior to Fountain.

The only thing down the road that may get me out of my Donzi Comp, would be a diesel Nor-Tech or CC.
