Default selonoid clicking

I sometimes have to turn the key 3 or4 times to get starter to kick over.. saw a thread a while back on here about this.. where is the selonoid for this... 502 mag mpi

check and clean connections for power and ground on starter and battery before just changing it.

Could be the slave solenoid too, up on the top of the engine in the electrical box. Mine went, and behaved exactly like you're describing.
Jump the slave, and you'll see. Especially if your starter is new-ish.

If you take the solenoid apart, just clean everything that's copper (disc, and contacts) and you'll be good to go. Or replace for $30 or so.
