Friend of mine has a 19' Bayliner with a cracked block. He wants to replace it with a new long block and is curious how much time it would take / an approximate what it would cost to have a dealer do it. Manifolds, oil pan and accessories would be swapped from the old to the new..
Thanks.
Thanks.

im not a dealer, but, app 4 hrs for r&r,including eng alignment,6 hrs for transfer of accessories including pan to new longblock,so app 10 hrs labor plus gasgets, oil, etc.dont forget,if block broke,so did oil-ps cooler that also need to be replaced.

it really depends on the boat and if theirs room to get it out,,if its a straight shot and i dont have to remove any decking i get 950.00 for r&r with the transfer of parts, keep in mind that the exhaust manifords and the bottom of the intake may be cracked..
if your friend dont see any external cracks on the side of the block or manifolds on the4.3 and he is just getting water in his oil i will almost bet that the bottom of the intake is cracked,,i have replaced many intakes on the 4.3 for this reason..when ppl just drain their blocks they dont realise that theirs water that sits on the borrom of the intake just below the carberator, then it will freeze and crack..
