I assume this is really a 60 mph boat? Too bad I'm broke; it would be fun to have this as the mini version of "Past Performance".

I would go with a hot 2.5, 6" setback jackplate 20" shaft. Depending on how hot the 2.5 is could be a 70+ boat with the right setup. My 24 pantera runs 60 flat with a stock 250EFI merc 25" shaft fishing motor, on 24" setback(bracket w/platform), no jack. 60 is easy, but then it is like a brick wall trying to get a few more MPH. I am sure this boat is much lighter than my 24.

Hey guys,
That super pacer was acutally my fathers boat back in the early 90's, back when he got it the motor
was mounted as high as possible directly on the transom, and it ran a high of like 66 or so. Since then this is the 2nd owner who has done some minor mods to the engine, exactly what I have no idea. I do
know the owner who had it after my father, lowered the engine on the transom so it would be
better for skiing and stuff. I know our super pacer which is the blue boat with the 275 mercury, we had
a handheld gps in the boat with approx 1/2 tank of fuel and it ran 68 with 2 full size guys in it. I would think the new boats with the slight set back and a new xs mercury must run over 70mph.
