activated by a water switch so as you dunk the trailer they kick on, light up the trailer from underwater so you can see where it is at night?

some use a bildge switch but some use a switch that uses water to make the connection so there is no moving parts. the power comes fromt he running lights. so the switch only has power when hooked to a truck thats On, and then it needs to be under water to activate. SOME will wire in a separat hand switch so they can turn them on once out of the water.

How dependable are those lights after a dunk in salt water?

then attaching to a water switch... I am thinking for under 150 (104 is 4 LED stips,) makein 2 32 foot long underwater lights and a switch and wireing and its done...

Me thinks the heck with the switch, they would look pretty pimp going down the highway like that.
