Default san padre to chicago

Thinking of an east coast tour....san pa.dre to chicago on a little go fast
...4 month adventure...crazy or doable? Thoughts?

A 4 month adventure?? That adventure might end in same place as the Minnow in a four hour tour...

Around gulf of mexico to keys...then up the east coast...up the st lawrence...

What about up the gulf of mexico to the mississippi to the illinois to the desplaines to lake michigan,I want to do that trip someday,I think you would be much safer that way,and you wouldn't have to worry about the weather so much.If I was gona take the east coast i would want to be in atleast a 50-60 ft yacht..

they call that "the loop" you would be a "looper"...
the folks I saw return a year or so ago took a year and traveled I think they said like 6000 miles but I'm probably wrong there...

I roughly calculated 6000 miles as well...which sound like a lot...until you break it down....if you average say 35 mph....thats only 171 hours.... divide that by say 12 weeks...thats less than 15 hours/ week....

I'd have to agree. I know a guy who did the Florida to chicago trip. Up the east coast, to st lawrence, and over thru the great lakes. He did it in a 50 or 60ft viking.

If the original poster is considering doing this in a 25ft boat, I'd recommend NOT doing it. There are times on Lake michigan just to travel 10 miles in a 25ft boat is almost impossible.
