Just bought a 1997 Powerquest 380 Avenger last weekend. I am very happy with the boat and most impressed with the ride. It is equipped with 502 Mags and ran 69mph GPS in 4' chop on Lake Michigan. Boat is now home in Omaha, NE. Spent all day Sunday buffing and have the exterior looking new. Sundeck upholstry should be complete this weeka nd ooking forward to enjoying. Have not had time to look at much else other than an initial inspection and test drive. One of my questions is if an on-board charger should be standard with the shorepower package. If, so, where is the charger located. I do not recall seeing one in the engine compartment when I was looking around?
Also considering adding A/C this year, as we spend alot of time in the marina. WHere is the factory system located and how many BTU's? I am sure I will have more questions down the road and am proud to join the other PQ owners here.
I fell I got a real good price as well, considering it included a nice trailer, under 450hrs on 502's and only needed buffed and sundeck upholstry. I posted some questions in February when they were asking $60k and brought it home for $39k.

Upload the pictures to photobucket and then copy and past the IMG code under the pic and paste it into the comments section. It will be a bunch of letters and numbers but once you click post quick reply the pictures will magically appear

Cory,
Congratulations on getting the 38
My A/C unit and air intake are under the closet area; remove the fridge for access. The outlet is above the eletrical panel. The circulating pump is under the step in the companionway. I've seen pictures where aftermarket are also installed under the 'U' cushion below the v-berth.

I have seen where the A/C was located, but what size unit would be needed? 6oooBTU, 9000BTU?
Also, where is the battery charger. I do not recall seeing one, but assume it was included with the shorepower package.

Also, any tricks to address the loose, rattling and difficult to operate sliding cabin door? Only real complaint I have. Probably won't rattle on thr river we boat, but was annoying on Lake Michigan
