Does anybody know the history of the 1992 39 Ocean Express currently listed in the classified section? I talked to the owner and he stated it has always been a Michigan boat and run in the St Clair area.

I am not crazy about the paint but it appears to be in better shape and could end my quest for a title on the 39 I purchased 2 years ago.

under that ugly paint is a red boat, the project started and the owner went "away" boat was re titled and re numbered and re painted

It looks like the outer engine mounts are bolted through the hull-sides with the backer plates outside the boat....is that normal for the OE's?

Yes all OE's came with the engines mounted through the sides and tunnels.

what year is it on the title ????

Something does not look kosher. The 1996 Ocean Express I paid for 2 years ago but do not have title HIN #'s are OEX39001F496. The numbers on the this boat are EMB39053H992 making it a 1992 and something other than a Ocean Express. Make on title reads EXCATAMARAN who built these?

I don't know, but if you look in the comments section of that link they mention a "Mr. Focht" which is the owner of Ocean Express.
