Default Mechanical Fuel Pump

I have two threaded lines in my fuel pump and one small clear rubber one. One threaded going into the pump and one out to the carb. The one going out to the carb is leaking gas when I am running the engine. Looks like a simple fix, so want to get some quick feedback. Do I need to drain anything before unscrewwing the hose attachment coming out? Also, what should I use to seal the threads when I screw it pack in? I am assuming any gas will come out then wipe it down and let it evaporate and dry, then screw in with something to seal it. Feedback is greatly appreciated. Not that it maters, but it is on a 454/496 stroker with a mechanical fuel pump going to carb. Thanks!
