Hello guys... I just purchased a 2000 47 about a month ago and am finally going through everything to make sure it's ready for the water.
I bought it from up north so it was winterized... I am from Florida and the next time I winterize a boat will be my first... Just making sure that I have everything put back correctly so I don't screw it up.
I started with the Port motor... new plugs, oil, fuel filter... all the pre season particulars and also reconnected most all hoses from winterizing.... HOWEVER... I am stumped on the hose issues below:
Problem #1 (inside the engine compartment Port side of each engine - pics below) I have one identical hose per motor that I am stumped on... so three hoses total. About the size of my pinky finger... looks like some sort of female flange pressure fitting?? I tried to trace it... and looks like all three are fished through the Starboard side heading towards the cockpit. My best guess here guys is that it is the Water Pressure line for the WP gauge in the cockpit?? And it possibly connects to the water outlet prevision under the exhaust manifold?? I plugged it prior to taking the picture... I could be way off guys... check it out and let me know what you think.
Problem #2 (three disconnected identical hoses outside the boat coming out of the transom to each bravo drive) I dont have a picture of this one because it was getting late... but the hose is the size of my pinky and looks like it has hose clamp marks on the end of it.... so it is not a pressure fitting and not some sort of hydraulic line. I also filled all of the drive oil reservoirs inside the engine compartment with gear oil and they held no problem... so that's not it. Water line?? Thoughts??
Thanks in advance for the help!!

The above pics are the hoses for your WP gauges on dash. Normally they are connect to the lower drains on engine block with a flare fitting. Plugging those hoses do nothing. Still have an open drain at your block. Gotta put the hoses back on.
Fountain does away with the standard Merc/bravo speedo hose that goes thru the transom assembly, and install their own. No idea why, as it doesnt effect the speedo accuracy. PLus just adds more holes thru transom. I removed mine and had those hose plugged and regelled back up. Those 3 hoses each are attached to the yellow twist lock tab for speedo connecter, then go thru a plastic cover, right next to the red trim cables

Interesting about the speedo situation... where exactly is the yellow twist lock tab? I have bravo one drives... looked all over but could not find the yellow twist lock or anything else for the hose to attach to.
Thank you!

Trim drive fully up and reach around inside the gimble ring front side. Has a small tang that you turn just a little to disengage. Pull up. Fountain removes the factory hose from that yellow fitting and attach the large rubber hose to it, then feed that hose out thru the gimble and up transom thru those plastic clam shell caps. Then are te'd together inside, with just 1 hose going to speedo.

when I winterize I just hook up muffs to 5 gallons of pink stuff and run it through, I can know you can tear apart a ton of stuff but to each his own. And I live in upstate NY, do you even have to winterize in FL??

I use a similar solution as Soldier4402. I bought a 5 gallon unit from West Marine and filled it with "the pink stuff -50º", brought each engine up to temp on the hose first, then hooked up the 5 gallon container and ran the motor until it consumed almost all the antifreeze. IMO this a a lot easier and safer than other methods + nothing to unhook and then have to rehook.
