Default Need help with garmin repair

I have a 2005 353 Fastech that has a dash mounted Garmin GPS map162 model on the fritz! When turned on, the screen does show a full display of different menus. It goes through its "boot up" process and when complete, I only get a thin solid blue streak down the center of the display.

I looked on line at Garmin's site for out of warranty service, and of coarse this model has no service available any more.

I need suggestions of where to go from here. Is replacement with a new model my only option? Are there non factory repair shops? Could it be the satellite receiver that has the issue instead of the unit itself? If so, how do you check that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just picked up a 2004 353. Same issue with GPS. These old units aren't repairable. Have you found a replacement model that will fit the dash cutout?

Went to garmin website. Vertical line on screen indicates unit requires software update (free).
