Default Removed old decals, now what?

The white gel coat that was behind the decals looks new, but the area around it obviously doesn't. I had new decals made, but are not an exact replacement. What should I use to try to bring back the old gel coat around where the old decals were at so you don't see the out line of the old decals? I don't want to get into wet sanding, but what is the next best thing or product? It is only a 1' x 1' area. Thank you,

Eric

it is an 88 boat? get bigger decals. 24 years of sun on the hull sides. you will never make the gel match the part the sun didn't see the whole time.

Unfortunatly D&K is right. You could try to wet sand and wheel and it will make alot go away but it will not completely go away. I am a big fan of Wizards products especially their Turbo Cut compound on gel. But just did my hatch with Farecla and am amazed at the result. Good luck...

I bought a gallon of Hula Boatcare compound and was amazed at how well it shined up my 1980 Scarab
I was having a full wrap installed and had to remove all oxidation first and the hula boatcare compound worked better than anything I have ever used on a boat

Thanks for the advice guys..........I'm not looking for it to be perfect, just a less noticeable. The decals I had made are a little bigger, but a different font because the vinyl guy could not get the original font Formula used in 88. Once the new decals are applied, you will be able to see the outline of the old.

can you possibly take a picture of the decals and post? I may need a set for my '88 242LS.
