Need help on a few things
Hi all,
I picked up a very well kept 255 Freedom Cruiser (1978 vintage).
I know very little about the formula and have a couple of questions.
1) Is there a fuse panel on this boat? If so where is it located?
2) I have both the original fridge and stove. Where does the propane bottle go? How do you turn the fridge on?
3) The headliner is falling off. Any recommendation to make that job as painless as possible?
The boat has a single mercruiser 260. Is 30-35 knt WOT to high on an expectation?
Anything else I should know/ need to really check about this boat?

1. The original should have individual BUSS fuses behind individual black caps for each circuit.
2. I have no clue...call Scott Smith at Formula customer service. He is always very helpful.
3. Unless you are an upholstery person...no painless way to do this and have it look right. You may be able to pull enough down to spray the backside with spray adhesive, push it back into place and roll it in with a small paint roller. You might get lucky.
The 260 in good tune should give you 35~40 WOT depending on load and prop. I'm guessing you should try a 17" or 19" stainless for starters.
Make sure your trim tabs work and use them...you will need them to quickly get that big 'ol girl up out of the hole....and keep the bow down.
FYI...my 255 Liberator with twin 260's will not get on plane with one engine but will run 30 mph on one once I'm up.
That boat is in remarkably good condition to be 33 years old!!

VideoFrank I also picked up a 255FC 1980 version. How did you make out with the headliner? Mine has the same problem! Does anyone have information on the sun deck / bench / whatever the real nomenclature is?
