Exclamation Water temp sensor location on carb 502?

The temp gauge on my Tryler Crockett carb 502 seems to be always around 100 deg. Im not sure if its working correctly.... There is some sort of sensor on the intake manifold in the front water crossover like where the thermostat would be on a car engine..... Is that the water temp sensor?

Or would it be mounted elsewhere?

Thanks!

It probably doesn't have a thermostat. If not, it shouldn't make any water temp. Do as wobble said and ground the wire going to the water temp sender(with the key on) and the gauge should peg. The water temp sender will probably be in the thermostat housing on top of the intake and should have a tan colored wire going to it.
