Default What's it worth?

Friends boat, 1994 272 Baja w/ 454 mag MPI- cracked block, heads redone last year

Boat is in GC, rack stored and well maintained, no trailer

I think he will be better off selling as is versus spending 5 K on a new long block

IMO its much harder to sell with a bad motor. It will take longer to sell and you will get less than if you spend the money now and replace the motor.

I agree, but the price range he wold be selling this would I dont know if there is much difference. I am just throwing out numbers but I would think someone would pay 8K-10K "as is" and 15K-16K running? Maybe my numbers are off

Well Maintained and Cracked block really don't belong in the same description........ Would pull the motor and sell without power...

Every spring there's a bunch of cracked block boats up here. They don't bring much, I'd guess about 3500 or so. If it was mine, I'd buy a complete running take out, contact Smokin'Gun, he's a reputable guy who always has something to sell for way under 5k. It's worth much more turn key.
