We have always used the 600 CFM Marine Edelbrock carb and they R pretty close right out of the box. Seems like Jegs might still have the best price. It is even cheaper than the jobber price thru Edelbrock.
If you go with the 750 CFM edelbrock carb then you will need to buy the recalibration kit to jet it down. I have talked to their carb techs a long time ago about the same subject and everyone of them said the same 600 cfm.
We are doing a brand new 350 HO Mag - 5.7 CID with an aluminum high rise intake manifold , with GLM exhaust (owners budget) as we speak. We just ordered the 600 cfm thru Jegs for 359 to replace the older mechanical choke 4 bbl Rochester. We order it also because of the electric choke because we would have to fab the older carb mechanical choke that was set up for the cast iron low rise intake manifold.
I use to buy these all the time for 300 bucks brand new - not anymore. If anyone knows a cheaper price elsewhere please post.
