Below is the ad that I had describing what is in this boat. One motor is already sold, everything else is still available.

We are selling our 1980 Wellcraft Scarab S Type 30' boat. We have owned the boat since 2007 and literally replaced most every mechanical or electrical component in the boat. No expense was spared in rigging.

Lets start with the motors; a pair of 516 cubic inch Mark V BBC making 625 HP and 648 ft/lbs torque each with 30 hours run time since they were built and dynoed. Motors are GM Gen V 4 bolt blocks .060. GM forged cranks, SRP forged 10.2 to 1 pistons with gapless rings, Eagle H beam rods with ARP cap screws, Clevite 77 mains and rods, Moroso anti-cav high volume oil pumps, Comp cam custom grind roller cams with Morel high polish high rev hyd lifters, 7/16 chrome moly pushrods, Ferrea stainless special alloy valves, Crane wide body 1.7 gold roller rockers, Merlin oval port heads with port matched Dart single plane high rise intakes, C&S areasol 930 CFM wet custom carbs, high flow flame arrestors. HEI Ignition, Polished aluminum valve covers with billet breathers vented to puke tanks. Stainless Marine Gen III exhaust, manifolds and stainless dry risers/pipes mixing at the tip.

What else in the bilge: All new Hardin offshore oil, trans and power steering coolers, all braided stainless and an fittings for oil system and trans coolers. Bilge was totally gutted in 2007 and every mechanical part in it rebuilt or replaced. Gil tubular offshore motor mounts. Borg warner Velvet Drive transmissions 72 C upgraded with bronze clutches. Severe duty drive plates. All wiring new using marine grade wire, including battery boxes, batteries, cables, switches, all wiring from helm to motors, all bilge wiring and custom harnesses on motors all new. All hoses new, 1 1/4" wire reinforced raw water hose from thru hulls to all coolers. New stainless trim pump lines for drives and planes. Magna fuel electric 280 GPH high flow pumps and regulators. All new fuel lines to and from the tank and on the motors. Enlarged tank pickups for improved flow. New bilge pump, blower etc. Livorsi stainless sea strainers, stainless thru hull water valves. Quick disconnect fresh water flush ports on each side of the boat.

The back of the boat: TRS drives with 5 hours on them. Full rebuilds by Tony at Merlin Marine in Lake Lannier GA. All new upper and lower gearsets in the drives. Gimbals were completly rebuilt every bearing, seal, stud etc was replaced. IMCO full hydraulic dual ram external steering all new including helm station, lines etc. 380 Series K Planes, Mirage Plus 3 blade 27 pitch stainless props.

Inside: Helm was removed refinished and a custom dash panel made to house all brand new Livorsi gauges and Blue Sea Systems switches. Livorsi throttles and shifters, 100 MPH Livorsi GPS speedo, LED drive indicators, kill switches, etc.

The hull: 30' Scarab S Type a classic flat deck rough water hull. Top sides were repainted at some point, hull sides were done in Interlux a few years ago. Hull is in decent shape, but there are plenty of nicks and scratches. Interior is decent, blue vinyl new in 2007 with stand up bolsters and rear bench. Teak is nice. Cabin is original in good shape. The boat could definetly use a paint job.

Trailer: Comes with a Load Rite roll on trailer that was completly rebuilt in 2007 and has never seen salt water. Disc brakes, all new bearings, seals, lights, tires, rollers etc. Pulls nicely.

This boat has three times the asking price in it, a steal for anyone looking for a performance boat with great components in it. We did not spend much on cosmetics, but it presents well. It sounds fantastic, runs well and will turn 75 MPH with the old TRS drives holding us back. Just purchased an Apache so this one has to go. Do you have two oil cooler,are they just engine oil. JOHN SR

One oil cooler is just the oil cooler, the other is a oil cooler and power steering cooler combo. Both hardin high performance coolers

Here are some pics of the helm, quoted price above includes the entire fiberglass enclosure, dash panel, all gauges, throttles, switches, everything but the Steering wheel, wheel mount and hydraulic steering helm, they are being sold with the IMCO steering system. Gauges are all the Livorsi race style with the weather pack connections, throttles have trim in the handles. Blue Sea switch panel with circuit breakers. Military rockers for tabs and drives. LED lighted mechanical Livorsi ultra thin indicators. All in Excellent condition.
