hi guys

My engine has eaten it's big end bearings and the oil pick up has caught most of the big debris and collapsed the screen so I need a new pick up tube.

I have had a search through the forum but have come up blank.

Do you know who makes a direct replacement for a 454 Alpha oil pick up tube as they are now made of unobtainium!! the sump is standard 8qt i think.

hope you went completly thru engine, replaced oil cooler and flushed oil lines very well...or the pickup going to be the least of your worries....I think a std GM pickup will work fine..that 8qt pan is stock depth just longer

Am changing almost everything and will flush through.

Do you have a part number for a standard GM pick up?

gen V or VI look up 1992 gmc suburban 2500 with a 7.4l engine..that engine holdsa 8 qts of oil..if its a mark motoe look up 1988 gmc supurban 2500 7.4l engine,that one also holds 8 qts of oil..BTW both have to be four wheel drive.
