Default cigarette 20

I found whats supposed to be a cigarette 20 the other day and want to verify if it really is before I spend money on something worthless. for you guys out there that know a lot about cigs maybe you can tell me if this hull # sounds like it could be a cig #FLZ055830980. the boat is a 1980 and it needs a lot of work but from all the pics i've compared it to it looks to either be a cig or a close copy.

----That appears to be a Florida assigned number. That happened in my case when my boat was stolen and recovered. I cant help you with what happened to this one. Ask the current owner whats up with that because even if it is a real Cig 20 that assigned # should make some difference in the value.........Bill S

With that HIN, that is not a Cig. Any Cig would start with CRT.

There where a few 20' Cigs Laid up by JCS (Jean Claude Simon) at the Coyote Factory, A guy I worked for in Hallandale Fla borrowed the molds and had JC's crew do the glass work. I don't recall what HIN #'s they got, But 1980 is about right. I do recall one was all yellow

Thanks for the help. I dont want to dump a lot of work into something thats not going to be what im looking for. The guy does'nt have the title but he has a bill of sale from where he bought the boat. The registration he has says homemade but the #s match.it all sounds a little fishy to me but i could get the boat for like $500 or so.just not sure its worth all the problems of its not a true cig.

Go check it out, If it's in decent shape even a good knock-off is worth $500, The JCS boats where made as well as the cigs, Maybe a bit lighter. He had good glass guys that did beautiful work...

Wet Bowtie, Where are you located in Ormond? I live in Deland, let me know maybe we can get together at Disappearing Island or Silver Glen...
