I have a gen IV Thunderbolt system on a 454/alpha combo in my Baja. Running a bunch of standard tests tonight but help me out, how do I check the unique parts of the merc system? Like the sensor in the distributor? How do I test if it is getting/sending a signal? Is there a way to bypass the ignition box? (3x4" black square mounted on the port riser). And finally the coil?
Motor is stock with a q-jet on top. New Parts: Plugs, Wires, Cap, rotor, and good fuel. Should I just throw it all out and do a 6AL Msd box? I also have a blaster II coil brand new I can throw on.
