I know some of you guys have a lot of experience with the different size Daytona boats. I own a '97, 25ft Daytona with an 800+hp engine, and this is my 5th Eliminator boat.
I am considering a couple other boat manufactures, but somehow I end up looking at a Daytona again and again. I'm looking for all out speed as well as everything else we find appealing about these boats.
I plan on running a surface drive and my current engine. The new 25's are prolly lighter and drive better than my '97, but if I'm gonna upgrade, going bigger is on the list; which hull do I get and why?
26, 27, 28...?

26 and 27 were the same bottom. The 27 has a taller deck. So from that aspect do you want the 26 with shorter upper deck with less space under the front or the taller 27 with more usable space under the front.
The new 27 speedster is definitely nice.
If your gonna go with the 28 its better served with twins.
I had a 2000 25' Daytona and then a 2002 30' Daytona. now Im currently looking for the next one. Was thinking of switching to a non center pod boat, but keep looking at the 33 and 36 daytonas. ahh gonna be an interesting search.

Is there really enough room to do anything under the deck?
What I most likely will do is have a small version of an open bow and have a hood made for it when I don't want it open. Me and my wife don't want to walk on the deck to get in.
Cool screen name you have!

I like the 27, standard deck, no ICC, has dual windshields, nice design, easy to see and easy in/out over the bow..
Ever try climbing over the windshield on a 27 speedster to get on the bow? I have, its not easy too do. Beautiful boat though, but just keep that in mind.
Either way, speedster or daytona series, you going to have an awesome boat.!

My last 2 boats have been a 27 Daytona standard deck with a walk thru open bow and 27 Speedster (closed deck) that I just took delivery of. I don't care too much for the ICC (capsules) deck design on the 26, so the 27 was a natural choice for me (given the variety of deck options), plus I wanted to stay with a single engine boat and so the 28 really wasn't for me either. My standard deck with open bow was definitely easier to get into, but the extra weight up front scrubbed off about 10 mph vs. the closed decks. These tunnels just don't like too much weight up in the bow. I absolutely love my new 27 speedster. The performance is outstanding all the way around, it looks amazing, and my kids actually prefer to spend time underneath the deck to get out of the sun. And, getting into the speedster from the bow really is a lot easier than it looks due to the way Eliminator designed the dash and interior liner. All in all, you really can't go wrong with an Eliminator of any size. Bob and his team worked very closely with me to build the perfect boat for me.

I finally got to see and tool around in a 27 speedster and I admit I love it. The 2000 25 footer I had was a great little boat also. But to go twin and go big I opted for the 36 in 2008.
If you want a single engine set up the 26 or 27 is the way to go totally. And Bob told me those go pretty darn well with the Ilmor V10's in them.

I have a 06 27' STD deck and just love it!!! It runs 130MPH with 1,100 HP fun fun fun set up!! The speed from 60-120MPH is a BLAST!!!!
Mine is setup with two coolers under the bow and bed up front, you must crawl to get in there not much head room. But for where and how i boat this is the best boat for me!!!
