Question Hey Glass Dave ?? Poly or acrylic ??

Hey Dave, my dad talked to you a few times I believe on what paint you use to spray boats and what not. Do you rec a acrylic or a poly paint. I know that the poly is stronger, somewhat more durable, but I also have read it doesn't have as deep a shine like a acrylic. Planing to do most of the bottom in the stronger of the 2, but kinda hung up on what to do the sides and possibly the deck in. Any input bud? Thanks

i use PPG's Concept single stage for straight one color jobs and DBC with 2021 clear for graphics. Easy to work with and holds out pretty well.

Is the concept a acrylic or a poly paint? I seen they offer both( atleast from searching)

Thanks

Hey thanks for the post. I forgot to put i decided to go with alwcraft. i can buy it for a little cheaper and the color that is offered is the exact match for the color on the boat. I am just looking for if infact the poly is going to last and be more durable then the acrylic.

Again thanks

Poly will outlast Arylic and be just as shiny although twice as strong in the water............... Look up what Dave pointed out, Concept is poly. DBC is 'Ditzler Base Coat' and 2021 is a Poly Clear. Both super strong. Single part White Concept is what I used on my Cat in 2002 and the last 3 coats I added some 2021 Clear to add to the depth and it's still just as shiny today 10 years later Beleive me Sikorsy knows his Sh$t .............. Just sayin'

Jason , when you say refinish that can be a very broad topic , and could you be a little more specific on what you really are try to achieve re-gel , paint , or .............................
