I just replaced mine with the old black ones no permatex just torqued it. Torque the riser down first criss crossing won't hurt either, then tighten the exhaust hose. I screwed up by torquing my risers last and the **** leaked like crazy.

What is the torque spec on this thing?
How many Ft/Lbs does it need?
I just bought new bolts since my new risers and manifolds did not come with any
I have the stainless risers not the old cast iron ones
Thanks
Jason

I assume they are the new Merc riser gaskets (it's all they sell now). They take no sealant. Not sure about torque. Just make sure you check the stainless risers every season for leaks. Because it is Stainless on a cast iron manifold, they are more prone to leaking than the cast on cast. My buddy has a 1994 Wellcraft Nova with stainless riser and just replaced his manifolds this year for the first time (running in salt), but they were pretty bad (lucky he didn't take water).
