I had posted this in the "boating Region" website, but, got little in the way of input, so, I thought I would try "here"
Hey Guys!
I am posting from Ontario, Canada, just East of Toronto
About a month ago a buddy of mine went to a get together for Law Enforcement Bikers, spent most of his time around Branson, Miss. and LOTO
Brought back some pics and I thought it was just gorgeous! I boat mainly in the 1000 Islands area [near upstate NY] and we are kicking the idea of coming back down for a few days to check out the boating.
Any idea's? What weekend/times would be best? places to stay? things to see? or avoid?
Any input would be appreciated! I was really impressed with what I saw in the pictures, looks like boating heaven!
All input appreciated! Thanks!
Michael

If you want the ultimate loto experience then the shootout would be a great time. You will get beat to death with anything under 35' though. I would stay somewhere between the 10 and 50 mile markers. check vrbo or the like for condos and homes for rent.

Thanks!
I probably wouldn't haul my boat down for the shoot out, had planned to watch from shore, or maybe rent something just to get out on the water?
If you guys could post/PM some links of places to rent, things to see, etc. I would appreciate it!
THANKS! again for the info! And Please keep it coming.

We have a crew of 6 Canadians heading down to the shootout, this will be my 2nd time, first time we dragged a boat, this time we rented a cabin along the course, & will rent a toon to get up close, it is a must see event for the serious powerboater, look up sunset inn resort, (likely booked at this point)

My wife and I are pulling the Nortech down for the shootout, another Nortech being taken as well with us. The owner of that boat and six others all from Canada are flying in.
We have rented at the Tan-Tar-A Resort and have slips etc.
Looking forward to it.........

You will have a great time down at the lake... here's a couple of sites that you might want to check out:
http://www.lakeoftheozarksshootout.org/
They will be having a SuperCatfest (formerly Skaterfest) at "Camden on the Lake" during the Shootout weekend....it's a little ways from the Shootout but there will be tons of serious hardware there to check out.
