Default Replacing oil pressure relief valve

Putting together a mark IV block and wishing to install a 30lb bypass valve in place of the current 11lb valve located in the remote adapter.. Decided this to be best of both worlds, when contemplating whether to block off completely or not.
Can anyone tell me if the 30lb valve I see listed listed for newer blocks will also press fit into the older mark IV adapters?
Thanks

What would it do this for? And is it possible for the valve to stay stuck in bypass? Is it in the oil filter bracket? Easy to replace?

An obstruction in the oil filter, cold oil at startup. Anything is possible so I guess it could get stuck open. There are a bunch of good threads on this very subject.

Default original question still unanswered.

Let me rephrase for clarification.

I have a Mark IV motor with remote filter assy. Inside the remote adapter that is mounted to block, there is a 11lb bypass valve. This is inside the adapter, not the block. The mark IV has only this one bypass valve.
I understand that the gen 5 and 6 motors use two bypass valves, and they are block mounted.
That being said, I wish to replace my 11lb valve on the mark IV adapter with a 30 lb valve. The only 30 lb valves I see are made for gen5/6 motors. I wanted to know whether or not the 30lb valve made for the gen5/6 motors will fit in place of the 11 lb valve inside my remote adapter.
Some say to block off altogether, and others say install a 30lb. I think I wish to increase from the 11lb to a 30lb and call it a day. It will still be much better than the 11lb I currently have in there, and god forbid worse case scenario, it will still provide some oil back to pan if something bad happens to filter.
Does anyone know if it will fit ?

Thanks,
Rich

that one is a merc piece, if you have a H/P engine best to trash all of the merc, adapters, lines, filter adapter, plumb with #10 hose and decent adapters and cooler...factory stuff won't cut it...

No it will not. The bypass valve for the GenV/VI is totally different than the one in your Mk IV adapter. I don't know of a larger one for your setup. That's why we just get rid of them. Just be sure to use a filter with a bypass in it already. You should be able to find a filter with a bypass in the 30 psi area.
