Default b&m 142

just bought a used b&m 142 ,it turned freely by hand ,put it on motor,tried to start it motor backfired, now it has a slight tight spot when turning by hand,anyone know if the smaller blowers need to be timed ? cant find any info on this online

You may have overtightened the blower. loosen bolts, turn blower by hand. Gently tighten bolts. They dont need much torque.

no it turned freely by hand when it was on the motor,it backfired now it has a slight tight spot. read somewhere on here a backfire could nock it out of time .???
