Help 496ho belt??

Help 496ho belt??
i noticed when looking at the engines in the 36ol 2003 i just bought that the star. engines belt has alot of slack and the tensioner on the alt is bottomed out and lots of belt debris on front of engine.
i want to get 2 new belts are their different belts between engines since i have a lathem steering system? i think ive heard it only runs of one engine. or how does that work
i called nearest marine dealer and they said a belt for a 496ho is 85$? plus shipping?
do we have to get a mercury belt or does anyone know what a gatorback part number is for our engines?? i really like gatorback belts since ive had one on my supercharges svt lightning f150 and it held up good no slipping........ dont know how much longer this belts going to last thanks guys
