The hinges on a 26 Outlaw were custom designed hinges for Baja Marine only. Orcas Marine is where we had them produced but I do not think any Baja dealer will know this information, or will have anything in stock on them. You should have the 5 sets of Attwood, or Seadog pull-apart hinges now and it would be hard to cover all the holes that they produced on the back of the deck. One long piano hinge mat be your best choice to cover up all the old holes?

the boat is suppose to have the 4 take apart hinges that from my understanding need to be a left lower combined with a right upper so that the hinge sits in properly. after buying several sets i have not been able to get 4 hinges that fit together properly even after calling the compnay i am buying them from to make sure they fit together correctly. the previous owner drilled extra holes to use the wrong side of hinge, a left in a right spot so there is 4 holes instead of 2. at this point i think i am stuck filling holes and gel coating regardless so i was thinking it would be cool to get those new hinges. a piano hinge may be the next option. i just thought those new hinges were pretty cool looking

I'm in the process of doing the same thing on my 1990 250ES. It looks like the deck twists when lifted due to the actuator being mounted on starboard side. This seams to put a lot of pressure on the hinges and they have bent up over the years. I have been looking for another set of brackets that match what I have to add another actuator on the port side and replace the hinges and repair the fiberglass pockets they sit in. Have you tried these:

i have those rigth now, they seem like they are too small and the lefts and the rights wont fit together like they need to. i have seen others that seem more square shaped that i think may fit the existing holes properly. i have spent 200 on hinges already and still dont have a set i am happy with. i run my actuator centered rigth now, i had dual rams before and may go back to it, i liked them better.

I have dual ram lifts and it has worked reasonably well the past few years as long as they don't get out of sync (I've only adjusted them once). The hatch is very heavy and lifts well with two. The undue strain w/only one lift adds additional strain on the outlying hinges and thus they bend/break. I've replaced most of the original hinges w/the same types. I can't recall but I was looking into one long stainless piano hinge as the next option but this has held up well over the past few years.

regalman4925, can you list the hinges you have tried? You have already saved me the price of the 1587's. If you do go with the piano hinge how will you fill the pockets for the old hinges?
These ate the Attwood hinges I was going to try:

on the page you sent me they list the stainless 3.5" ones and then brass 4", i believe we need the brass ones. you can hit picture 2 and see them. now from what i can tell, keep in mind my original stuff was missing when i bought my boat, is that you need to buy 2 lefts and 2 rights and use the male right hand with the female left and vice versa to make the hinge meet the sundeck correctly. that site is not listing both left and right either. i am going to give this one last attempt with the brass hinge and if that does not work i am going for a piano hinge, fill the holes and leave those pockets as it.
