So I need to rebuild my 2000 502 Mag MPI and the only reusable parts are the block, crank and maybe rods. Does anyone have a list of part number or suppliers just to get it back into stock form. I'm not looking to increase HP just would like to save some money by going aftermarket instead of buying stuff from merc.
I need:
Heads
Pistons
Rings
Gaskets
Rods
Pushrods
Any help is appreciated, its been awhile since I had to do a build and I know things have changed.
Thanks!

I'll probably get crucified for saying it here, are you going to bore it? If not I'd just re-use the stock pistons depending on the hours and if you didn't have an actual problem with them and the cylinders are ok. I honed the block and re-ringed.
That what I did on my 502 build a few years back, had 530 hours on it, and have 275 on it since the rebuild. The 275 hours significantly more power than the stock 530 hours. Also re-use the stock rods, they are fine at stock power levels/rpm.
All of this assumes you are running sock 502/415's or similar.

Sorry should have clarified, I am rebuilding it because it seized up over the winter due to water getting in the cylinders. Had to beat a few of the pistons out so they are junk. Rods look ok but have surface rust so I'm not sure if I should clean them and re-use them. Thankfully crank and cylinder walls are fine and I will just have a hone done and use standard pistons.

J/E makes real nice repacement srp forged pistons that are a dream for the 502 , they are 4.470 in dia vs the stock 4.466 so you can have block tq plate honed usually vs bored , they are so close in weight you may skip rebalancing it possibly (I have before) and they use a std ring vs the low tension metric crap from merc! The rest of the stuff iss just gen 6 style stuff, no reason to buy from Merc cruiser!
