I never see much posted here so I thought I'd share my props story.
I bought the boat earlier in the year from Bauberlen (forum name)
Spectre 32SC 2007 model. Runs Ilmor 625s with Bravo 1.34 gears (I'm pretty sure thats right anyway)
It arrived here in Australia with 36P Bravo 1s on it. We only run the boat at a local lake here in Victoria called Lake Eildon. It's about 50 miles long. Magnificient place.
First day I took it out top speed was about 125mph and it struggled over 118mph. Within the first hour a blade threw.
I grabbed a pair of Merc maximus props. 34P 5 blades, labbed and shortened.
These were much better, no prop slip getting up, top speed about 126mph.
I then ordered a pair of Hering props, 33 x 15.25 5 blades.
Sadly these were worse. It was near on impossible to get on a plane, and it hit the limiters at about 127mph. Keeping the revs consistant between both motors was hard too.
The awesome dudes at Hering were happy to help and organised an exchange for me.
Now I have 34 x 15.5 5 blades.
Wow. These are killer. On plane still needs some slip but not too much. Acceleration is amazing and we are now seeing an easy 130MPH top end just under the limiters.
Oddly, it goes better with 4 people in it than 2. I can't explain that.
Hering have a customer for life in me. Their service and advice has been super valuable for me. Here in Australia there is simply noone that I can speak with to get help on Offshore boats.
Cheers Hering !!
