Default Fountain of Youth Products

Glass Dave: I see you are very familiar with this product line and I would like to try it. The website was a bit confusing in that it appears there are multiple products that do similar things (Awesome and Vitro, Totally Buff and Pad Glaze). My boat is in excellent shape with custom painted hull sides and factory gelcoat on top. What would you recommend for each application? I typically like to use something that cuts a bit to remove any small scratches but am concerned that the gelcoat may need something too course to use on the paint as well. Your input is greatly appreciated!

Totally Buff should take care of ya. It's a diminishing compound, in other words as you work it it breaks down into a finer polish. Its pretty cool in the fact that it cleans itself out of the pad and you dont really need to spur it (use wool pad). After that wash thoroughly then hit it with Vitreo and keep up on it with Quick Shine.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. I have always used foam pads. Does it work well with those too, or should I switch to the wool?

Wool for gel and foam for paint.

I second what Dave said. I use totally buff once a year and then use vetro. I reapply vetro on my hull sides once a month to keep crap from sticking. I launch in a creak that has some weird funky stuff that attaches itself to anything.... I use vetro twice a season on the deck. I apply the vetro at slow speed with a foam pad and remove with a towel...

Do you guys have a recemmendation on where to order from? I know you can order directly from their website, but their shipping charges are rediculous. Just ordering a quart of Totally Buff and a quart of Vitreo.

I've always ordered directly from them. Great products.

Why about bonded areas?? Where paint meets gel?? Especially small strips that are painted??
