Giligan's does a good job. The food there is always pretty good. Capt. Billy's is OK but the atmosphere went downhill years ago IMO when the old man died and they cater to a different crowd now.

Gilligans is better in that area.
There are a couple of good places in town in Colonial Beach as well.

Last time we went to colonial beach i got the feeling that the economy had really taken its toll on the area.....we seen a few burger joints but were looking for seafood.....

exactly.

I remember when Capt. Billys had a big deck, outside bar, bands at night and a full dock of go-fast and crusier boats. Not any more.

Wouldnt have thrown this one in their last year but, this year.........Port Tobacco Marina is trying to make a come back under the lead of Mike Mona. Channel is better than it had been because of boat traffic, outside bar, and an inside bar, protected from the weather in case of a storm, has been having bands their also. Everyone talkes about his rockfish sandwich, havent had on yet, supposed to be good though.
Hired some wait staff and the place is on the rebound especially Fri. and Sat. night.

You've got that right!!! Late 80's, early 90's. Life was so much easier then!!!

That was a sad day when the Corps of Engineers showed up with the chainsaws and cut that whole deck off. Bill always said that permits were overrated!!!
