I am looking for any pictures or information on installing AC in either a 340 or a 380.
In particular, I am looking for the typical location for mounting the Sea cock, strainer and pump.
The unit itself will be mounted under the front bench seat right before the V berth
Thanks in Advance for any information available.
Also I will provide pics of the install as I go.

Se cock is mounted on port side along with the sea strainer and pump in the eng compartment.
Also, the unit is mounted to the left of the fridge.

Thanks a bunch.
I had my Fridge out a couple years ago. and cant remember the open space to the left of the fridge. BUt makes good sense.
I'll be taking a look at it this week end when I get back up to my boat.
Do you know the BTU rating for your AC? 5000,7000,9000?

Seems like there was another guy with a Powerquest that did his own A/C install awhile back. May try searching and you should be able to find it.

The middle of my seat lifts up. That is where I put my unit. I installed a 5,000 BTU unit in my 340 Vyper. I did cut the opening bigger to get it in there. I also had to unscrew (from the bottom) the cushions in each corner. Then I cut access holes from the top to run hoses, wiring, etc. There is a void in each corner but it was totally glassed in.

Thanks for the replies
When I was up north this weekend on the boat, I evaluated the three different possible locations for the AC unit.
The best option to me was how PWRADDR's was built. It is the fartherst away from where you sleep, so should be the quietest. I was pretty excited about that spot. But when I removed my fridge, I see the bottom of my closet goes almost to the bottom of the fridge. My closet is really deep the bottom goes to about 6 inches above the bottom of the fridge. So unless I found a 6" tall AC Unit, I would have to raise the bottom of the closet. That ain't happening.
PWRADDR, I assume the bottom of your closet is about 6-8" lower than the door bottom. My closet has the bottom probably 18-24" below the door bottom. Nice closet space but no room for the AC. Sucks..
C_Deezy, Thanks for the link. When I searched I used "air Conditioner" Should have used "air conditioning". Anyrate, Vista268 did a great job on both the install and the information on the thread. Angie and I sat in the cabin deciding where to put it and we decided to go under the front bench seat so we didn't give up the space under the sink.
PWRADDR, my middle seat doesn't just lift up, like Diggin H2O says, there are some screws under the bottom of the cushion. it's not finished or painted under there. But if some one wanted, that could be an easy upgrade to get more storage space.
So, after looking over some of the manuctures, I decided to go with the Model M9-CHP-R by Mermaid Marine Air Conditioners. 9K BTU, Right discharge. The CHP is the Reverse AC heat model. It can get cold in the Spring and Fall in Northern Michigan.
The cost of this project just sucks. "BOAT" times 2+, But I can say I saved 350 bucks by going with marinewholesales.com versus any where else I could find.
I bought
M9 AC unit, 2 wk delivery
Standard Install Kit
FX-1 Controller
and the water pump.
PWRADDR, This FX-1 controller looks like the same one you have, just different labeling. The basic option uses a conventional T-Stat, where the blower cycles full On and Off. This FX-1 controller has a variable blower speed, so the blower slows down when it ges close the the set temp. They say it is quieter that way.
I started checking out the instructions. Anyone cutting a hole in these boats should know how to seal up the balsa core lament. If a leak were to occur, you do not want the balsa core to soak up water. A water logged boat would really suck. So I have a good fiber glass guy helping with the hull pentrations. But everything else I think I can manage to do.
When the unit gets here, I'll get started on it and keep you posted.

See bold.
If you need anything let me know, I had an issue with mine so I am familiar with everything now having had to figure out how to troubleshoot it. Best of luck, you will love it!

Google Microair marine and find the site, they make most of the stuff and others put their logo on it. Mine is extremely quiet and works like you described

Hey Shawn, one other thing, try to plan on where your cold air discharge will be. As you saw mine comes out above the breaker panels. This is nice because it blows into the V berth. I slept 4 straight nights in 95 degree weather ( gold cup races at he Detroit Yacht Club) and had no discomfort. Set the stat at 74 and was fine. Cold air falls as you know so if the discharge is low and cold air falls....well you know.
I will say it would be a nice to have in the head, but to be honest we have never used it for anything other than urine so we are not in there long. I wouldn't waste the time or the air flow to cool the head when the door is always closed.
Why not modify your closet to get he unit farthest away? Wouldnt be hard, you have my pics so you can see it.
Again, all opinions, so take them as you will.
